Description: Wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivar Bobwhite spikelets were point inoculated at anthesis with 10 µl of conidial suspension of PH-1 (105 spores/ml) or water control (mock) in 0.01 % Triton 60 solution. After inoculation, the plants were placed in a growth chamber at 16°C night (8h), 18°C day (16h). To ensure proper disease severity the spikes were covered with plastic bags for 48h to increase the humidity. Three biological replicates were conducted at 24, 48, 72, 96, 144 and 192h after inoculation (hai). Water treated (mock) spikes from the 0h time point was used as a control. For each biological replication, four spikes were randomly sampled, and immediately frozen at -80°C prior to RNA extraction. At each of the time points, spikes were sampled around 3 p.m.
