Series_summary:
Gene expression response of Populus plants subjected to leaf wounding was analyzed using the Affymetrix poplar genome microarrays.

Series_overall_design:
Populus fremontii x angustifolia genotypes were grown hydroponically.  Wounding treatment was applied by pinching leaves at Leaf Plastchron Index (LPI) 8-12 with pliers at a rate of 10 1-inch wounds per leaf.  Young (LPI 0 and LPI 1) and mature leaves (LPI 5) were sampled 1 week after the treatment. Two biological replicates were obtained for each condition.

PLEXdb Curator's Note: This is part of the super series GSE16786 at GEO which contains the subseries PT15 (GSE16783), PT16 (GSE16785) and PT17 (GSE16773). GEO also mentions that PT5 (GSE14893) and PT3 (GSE14515) belong to this super series. We have not been able to import the superseries GSE16786 because it could not be accommodated with a meaningful factorial structure.
