Series_summary:
This study examined the transcriptome level attributes of a variety of Populus balsmifera tissues and organs. The tissues include seedlings grown under three light regimes, young leaves, mature leaves, roots, differentiating xylem, female catkins, and male catkins.

Series_overall_design:
In total 27 samples were analysed including 9 tissues with 3 biological replicates for each tissue. The samples were hybridised to the Affymetrix GeneChip Poplar Genome Array.
